Film Locations. New Hampshire is best known for its picturesque New England towns with historic town squares and white-steepled churches. The state’s natural beauty includes snow-covered mountains, coastal looks, beautiful rivers and lakes, and colorful foliage in fall. The countryside has rolling farmland with dairy farms and apple orchards, historic mills and covered bridges. Manchester is New Hampshire’s largest city.
Examples of films partly shot in New Hampshire include Jumanji, The Good Son, and The Thomas Crown Affair.
New Hampshire Film Location Permits. New Hampshire does not require any general filming permits. Filming on public land requires an application to film on state property. Proof of insurance is required. Please contact us for location specific information.
When to shoot? New Hampshire has warm, humid summers with cold, wet and snowy winters. The coastal south-east has milder and wetter weather, while the northern and interior portions experience cooler temperatures and heavier snow.
