Helen

The town of Helen is located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains of northeastern Georgia.

It is a strange mountain town famous for its Bavarian-themed buildings that give it the air of an amusement park, making for an unusual and interesting film location. Season 2 Episode 4 of the TV series Atlanta filmed in Helen.

Helen buzzes with tourists all year round. In May, it hosts the South’s oldest balloon event and the United States’ only long distance hot air balloon race. Oktoberfest brings visitors flocking in the fall to gorge on beers and bratwurst. During Christmas colourful pitched roofs drip with twinkling Christmas lights and a traditional German Christmas market opens in November.
