Sigiriya
Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Sri Lanka. Located in a beautiful jungle setting, the 1600 year old fortress is surrounded by an extensive network of fortifications, vast gardens, old banyan trees, ponds, canals, alleys and fountains. Wild elephants can be seen wandering around the dense jungles. Captive elephants are also available for filming for the classic shot of a dressed elephant with Sigiriya rock in the background. Other local fauna of note include a variety of birdlife, crocodiles, and macaques.
Sigiriya is located a three hour drive from Colombo. The town of Dambulla, a 15min drive away, is the closest place to accommodate crew.
