St Kitts & Nevis Film Locations
The Caribbean islands of St Kitts & Nevis are of volcanic origin, with large central peaks covered in tropical rainforest, surrounded by beautiful beaches.
Agricultural film locations on St Kitts include plantations of sugarcane and peanuts. Nevis grows cotton and coconuts. St Kitts & Nevis is also a centre for offshore banking.
Film locations can be divided into the following islands:
St Kitts
St Kitts includes the parishes of Christ Church Nichola Town, Saint Anne Sandy Point, Saint George Basseterre, Saint John Capisterre, Saint Mary Cayon, Saint Paul Capisterre, Saint Peter Basseterre, Saint Thomas Middle Island, and Trinity Palmetto Point.
Basseterre is the picturesque capital and largest city. It is also the location of the international airport and cruise ship port. Warner Park cricket stadium is located in Basseterre.
Beautiful beaches of note include Majors Bay, Sandy Bank Bay, Cockleshell Bay, South Friars Bay, and Frigate Bay.
Turtle Beach is famous for its drunk monkeys.
Giant leatherback turtles nest on North Friars Beach and Keys Beach from February through July, with hatchlings emerging through the end of September and beginning of October.
Mount Liamuiga is the highest peak in St Kitts & Nevis.
Brimstone Hill Fortress is a historic location.
The Royal St Kitts Golf Club is a picturesque location.
Nevis
Nevis includes the parishes of Saint George Gingerland, Saint James Windward, Saint John Figtree, Saint Paul Charlestown, and Saint Thomas Lowland.
Charlestown is the largest population centre on Nevis.
Beautiful beaches of note include Pinney’s beach, Oualie beach, and Banana Bay.
St Kitts & Nevis Film Location Permits
In many cases film permits are not required to shoot in St Kitts & Nevis. Where film permits are required, the process is generally fast and straightforward. For instance, drone filming at Brimstone Hill National Park and Fortress, requires permission from aviation authorities as the location lies in the flight path. When To Shoot?
St Kitts & Nevis has a hot, tropical climate tempered by trade winds throughout the year. The warm, dry season runs from November to April. This is the best time to film for weather. Costs & Tax Incentives
Costs. Unlike much of the Caribbean, costs in St Kitts & Nevis are relatively reasonable. Since little to no filming infrastructure exists all key crew and equipment must be brought in from abroad. Our St Kitts & Nevis fixer will negotiate local deals and provide the appropriate level of production support to match every budget.
Tax Incentives. At present there are no tax incentives for foreign commercials or films shooting in St Kitts & Nevis.
Film Crew & Talent
Crews. St Kitts & Nevis has a very small pool of directors, videographers and stills photographers. Key crew needs to be brought in. Miami is the closest major production centre should you need to look further.

St Kitts & Nevis Film Equipment
Equipment. There are no camera, grip or lighting equipment houses in St Kitts & Nevis. Miami is the closest major production centre should you need to look further. For productions intending to bring in equipment, St Kitts & Nevis is not an ATA carnet country.

Visas & Work Permits
Film crews travelling on western passports can enter visa-free for stays of less than 90 days. No work permits required to shoot St Kitts & Nevis.
Transport & Accommodation
Transportation Infrastructure. Main roads are in an average condition. The islands are small and all areas are accessible within minutes. There is a ferry service operating between Basseterre and Charlestown which takes about 45mins. Several international airlines service flights to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, which is located on St Kitts.
