Idaho Falls
Located in Bonneville county, Idaho Falls is Everytown America. Its tree-lined suburban streets and manicured lawns easily double for the locations in John Carpenter’s 1978 film Halloween. Soulless concrete strip malls house all of the usual chains including a Sears department store inside a 1980’s style mall. Main street has been revived. Dixie’s Diner is a 1950s-style classic American diner. The Union Pacific Railway and Snake River both run through the centre of town. Other Everytown America film locations include a water tower, minor league baseball stadium, a regional airport, typical small town American high schools and college campuses, a stockyard, and a small zoo.
Unique locations include Eagle Rock Fountain, Idaho Falls Mormon Temple, and man-made waterfalls.
Idaho Falls offers all of these locations a short drive from each other.
On the outskirts of town you can find miles of farmland, wind farms, canyons and picturesque rivers. Grand Teton National Park is only a 2 hour drive away.
