Lake District

The Lake District, is a mountainous region in North West England. It is famous for its lakes, forests and fells (mountains). The area is known for the works of William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, and John Ruskin.

The Lake District is located entirely within the county of Cumbria. Locations of note include Lake Windermere, Scafell Pike, Wast Water, Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, Holker Hall, Hill Top and Rydal Mount.

The Lake District has featured in films such as Miss Potter, 28 Days Later, Snow White and the Huntsman, Swallows and Amazons, Withnail and I, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Peter Rabbit, Brief Encounter, and Without a Clue.

When To Shoot?

The summer months (June to August) are busy with tourists and traffic. The shoulder months are better for filming conditions with spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) in full colour. Winters (November to March) are dark and rainy.
