Las Vegas, New Mexico
Las Vegas is a city in San Miguel County, New Mexico located 65 miles (105 km) east of Santa Fe, and 122 miles (196 km) northeast of Albuquerque, the two closest production centres.
The city is best known for its Old-Town Historic District and its infamous past as a hangout for Old West outlaws such as Doc Holliday, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, and Wyatt Earp.
Las Vegas has over 900 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Some of the city’s notable buildings include Historic Plaza Hotel, Dr. H.J. Mueller House, Old City Hall, Louis Fort House, Masonic Temple, La Castaneda Hotel, and Carnegie Library.
Just outside of Las Vegas you can find car roads through desolate landscapes, and Wild West settings in areas such as Conchas Lake State Park, Fort Union National Monument, and Pecos National Historical Park.
Las Vegas and surrounding areas have hosted many film and TV series including House of Cards (2013-2018), Longmire (2012-2017), True Grit (2010), No Country for Old Men (2007), and Wyatt Earp (1994).
