Picturesque New England Fishing Village: Filming in Stonington Maine

Written on October 10, 2012

Stonington, Maine is one of New England’s last picturesque small fishing villages where lobstering remains the mainstay of the local economy and the pace of life is reminiscent of New England in the 1950’s.

Stonington can be reached by land (2hr drive from Bangor Airport) or direct into Stonington Municipal Airport by charter plane.

Stonington has a four season climate with hot summers, an abundance of fall colours, snowy winters and colourful spring time.

For the film crew looking to over indulge, lobster sandwiches and whoppie pies are a must for lunch.
