Aomori

Aomori is located in the northern Tohoku region of Japan. The city sits between Aomori Bay and the Hakkōda Mountains. It is known for its waterfront, seafood, museums, universities and archaeological sites.

Film locations of particular interest include Sannai-Maruyama Ruins, Wa Rasse Nebuta House, A-Factory, Bay Bridge, Museum of Art, Hakkoda-Maru Ship, and Furukawa Fish Market. The Tourist Center is an iconic triangle-shaped building located on the waterfront. 

Getting there, the city is very well serviced by high-speed rail, air, highways and sea.

When to shoot?

The city has a humid temperate climate with warm summers that have occasional heavy fog, and cold winters that see some of the heaviest snowfalls in the world. Aomori’s Nebuta Festival is on in August.
