Filming Keleti Train Station Budapest, Hungary

Written on October 8, 2012

Keleti Railway Station

Located in central Budapest, Hungary, Keleti Railway Station is a grand old station built in the early 19th century in the eclectic style.  The station offers several old Europe looks including an imposing facade with centred clock, busy concourse, curved glass roof, twelve platforms and several train varieties dating as far back as the 1800’s.  More modern trains such as the Railjet are also possible but require more lead up time.  The older trains are easier to access as they’re in a museum and don’t require being pulled from the daily schedule.

Permits. Given enough lead up time it is possible to have short term control of the street exterior, concourse, the platform and trains.

Budapest is a well serviced film production centre with all standard crew and equipment available locally.

Keleti Railway Station is Budapest’s largest station and the best time to shoot is outside of the summer holiday period when the station becomes especially busy.
