Filming in Grote Markt Antwerp, Belgium

Written on September 17, 2012

Grote Markt, Antwerp

The Grote Markt is a well-known landmark in Antwerp, Belgium. Built in the 16th and 17th century it is home to the City Hall and many picturesque guildhalls. Around the square you can find many cafés and restaurants and each winter there is a Christmas market.

Permits for small projects usually take a week with permits for larger projects taking up to 6 weeks. Pedestrian traffic can be controlled.

The main entry point for visiting crews is Brussels which is a 30min drive from Antwerp. The larger equipment houses are centralised around Brussels but crews can also be found all around the Flanders region.

When to Film?

May to October is the best time to film for long sunny shoot days. The square plays host to many summer festivals so it is best to plan your dates accordingly.
