Filming at Jackson Hole Airport, Wyoming

Written on September 20, 2012

Jackson Hole Airport

Jackson Hole Airport in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming is a modern structure with single runway set against a picturesque mountain backdrop. The airport regularly accommodates aircrafts up to the size of Boeing 757’s.

Jackson Hole Airport is very film-friendly with drop off area, Check-in, 6300′ runway and views inside the terminal all possible given enough lead up time.

Film Permits

Permits are required through the National Park Service. Jackson Hole Airport is the only US airport located inside a Nation Park.

Jackson Hole has the largest concentration of crew and film resources in the area. Lighting packages are available out of Bozeman, Montana 4.5hr drive away.

When To Shoot?

Weather-wise things start to green up around late May and into June. You can expect snow towards the end of October, although the mountaintops tend to stay white year-round.

Getting In

Jackson Hole Airport is well serviced by major US carriers particularly in the summer and winter seasons.
